InterRail: The Route Update

The Route - Update

Since opting for the 15 day travel days within a month pass, we knew we had to cut down our countries and come to an agreement with where we wanted to go. As mentioned in our previous planning post, we originally decided to go through the list of countries alone and compare our list together, and discuss and compromise.

Here is the full list of the countries we could visit:

Austria, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey

//

Jessica's list:

Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey

James' list:

Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland

//

As you can see we both automatically took out Spain, France, Ireland and Italy - the first three countries being that we've been there together already and Italy because we have future plans to do that whole country on its own. Portugal and Germany had been taken off from one of the other due to either one of us had already been there but not together, etc.

We both haven't completed our list of 15, so there is plenty of room to swap, add and change.

This list has been purely been based on wanderlust, of course we want to visit all of these places and fit in as most as we can, but this is not our final route. We are still in the process of figuring out the perfect route for us, but we are excited to do more research and eventually share our final route with you.

Have you been inter-railing before or been to any of these countries? Let us know where you suggest we go and if you have any posts to share, let us know in the comments below!

We'd love for you to follow our journey, make sure to come back for future posts:
The Saving, The Details, The Final Route,
The Accommodation, The Reservations, The Packing etc.

  4. So glad Poland is still on your list! Warsaw-Krakรณw-Zakopane is a very good route to do if you have the time :) and for Sweden it's easy to crossover to Copenhagen in Denmark via Malmo! So exciting, can't wait to see your journey and your future plans. Slovakia I think should stay on if you have the room <3 xx
