With I, Jessica, living in London my whole life and with James currently living in London for the past year, it's safe to say we know London pretty well right? Wrong.
You'd be surprised to know that there is so much more to London that we haven't seen and what kind of travellers would we be if you can't even say you haven't explored your own city.
So over the year, we've made a list of places to visit and here are some FREE things to recommend.
Parks
Hyde Park
Regent's Park
Holland Park, Kyoto Gardens
St James' Park
Kensington Gardens, A Royal Park
Richmond Park
Museums
Science Museum
Natural History Museum
Tate Modern/Britain
V&A Museum
National Gallery
Historic Site/Landmarks
Trafalgar Square
Changing of the Gaurds
Sky Garden
Abbey Road
Princess Diana Memorial Fountain
We know not everything in London is free, so would you also like to see a list of recommendations of things to do in London with reasonable or worthy of their price?
Have you been to any of these places?
Do you know any more free activities/sightseeing things to do in London? Leave them in the comments below!

I am completely on board with being a tourist in your own city. I really want to go on the City Sightseeing bus in Cardiff so I can get to know more about the history of the landmarks. My bf thinks I'm weird...
ReplyDeleteBeing a tourist in my own city of Liverpool is one of my favourite things to do when it's Spring and Summer time so I really enjoyed reading this blog post. Thanks so much for sharing! Your city is beautiful. πΈπ✨

Beautiful post! I definitely think that there is always so much we can see in our own town or place. You just need to look around and explore. xx

Being a tourist in your own city is one of the best ways to take a cheap vacation! There are so many things to do in most cities and it seems like unless you set time aside, it's easy to put it off forever. London sounds like the perfect place for a staycation!

I’ve lived in London my whole life (19 years!) and sometimes I feel like I’ve only seen a tiny bit! Sometimes having touristy days is my favourite thing - and definitely justified when there is so much to see! :) x

Love all these places! Local tourism should really be encouraged when travelling abroad just isn't possible. We have so many good things on our doorstep :) Also would love to see more London recommendations :)

There are some great places on the list, thanks for sharing. I love the Sky Garden in particular. Even in my city, Bath, which is tiny, I still manage to find places that I haven't visited before.

This is a great idea! I must admit that I know the least about my own city, maybe I should try this as well :)

It is my favourite thing to be a tourist in my home city :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really lucky in that in Newcastle the majority of museums and galleries are free.
