Fernsehturm, Berlin Wall & Deutscher Bundestag | Berlin Day 2

Caught up with Day 1 and Day 3?

Our first full day in Berlin and to commemorate this we headed up the tallest building in Berlin, the Berlin TV Tower*, also know as the Berliner Fernsehturn. With the Berlin Welcome Card*, you can receive discount on the original entry price. We were luckily enough to have fast track tickets, so we skipped the queue and in a matter of seconds we were already 203 meters high.

Within this visitors platform, there was a bar and a walkable 360 panoramic view of Berlin, packed with close up pictures and information on what you can see ahead of you. It was a great opportunity to point out what we wanted to see up close and find out what each of them were and its history.

Of course being in Berlin, we obviously had to visit the Berlin Wall, but for some reason or another, we found ourselves at the Berlin Wall Memorial, which is not the same thing apparently. After already travelling half an hour to get here, we realised we had to travel another half an hour to get to the East Side Gallery, which is where we originally wanted to go. Eventually we found it, and we'll let the photos speak for us..

For our last stop of the day, we visited the Reichstag Building (Deutscher Bundestag) It was free to enter, as long as you registered and requested your dates you'd prefer. We only registered the night before and got a reply early that morning. Getting in was like going through airport security, I.D checks and all.

Unfortunately, the whole purpose of visiting this building was for the Dome, which was coincidentally closed on the exact days we were visiting, for cleaning. So annoying, but it was still worth going up the terrace and seeing another overview of Berlin and watching the sunset go down.

Can't wait to see what more Berlin has to offer tomorrow! Make sure to come back and see!
